To Strike a Balance

All our lives, we are expected to know how to juggle. Our existence is declared by the gynec and we rule from one terrain of the womb to another. On the set fortunate day, our mothers (or the surgeons) bring us into the world.

Then it’s juggling from one lap to another from one shoulder to another. On growing up a little, we pick & choose between the numerous toys & no one dares to question our judgments. But as we start studying and step into this weird world, the real juggling starts and we are expected to deal with numerous things to study, alien like people, games, time, extracurriculars, etc. etc. nursery to school to college…. Juggling continues. Now comes, the real question Ab kya? What next?

Chalo bhai, since so much’s been spent on the education let’s start getting an ROI by declaring to the world that Hum bhi Ma Papa ki kamau santaan ban sakte hai and hence off we start going to work. in the office we juggle between the boss, the colleagues, the real work, the pretentious work and fun J Also, many a times some of us realize that Boss, present pay scale is not enough, I’m hoarse shouting I hate my job; so let’s start preparing to either change the job or prepare for MBA.

M-B-A the three golden letters which are no less than a mirage. They seem like the wishing well but in fact don’t even provide for a bottle of bisleri when needed. None the less, we try and try and try to again juggle between the job and books that will help us reach a place called MBA College, where we need to juggle between books, aliens, fun and the task of finding bakras who’ll either let us pursue our internship or give us a job or if we are lucky, both.

Phir job mili to juggle from one situation to another one assignment to another and then shaadi which involves juggling between job-in laws-patidev-responsibilities, etc. it goes on and on and on.

Though the juggling is endless and we can never get rid of it, the key is to strike a balance. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we fail but what matters is that we are trying. At least I am. Ab Allah jaane kya hoga aage. Whether the balancing act will succeed or not, dunno. Hoping for the best, though.

Hi...
quite a thought provoking post... here are my two bits about it

In my opinion, the real problem is that the world expects us to do some things and we in the course of fulfilling those expectations stop living our lives and start living life of "A person who is expected to be.... "

Another problem that we (atleast I) suffer from is the living life with borrowed desire. We all have enough strength/intelligence/skills to fulfill our needs but we run behind desires that we have acquired after seeing others. So, first if we are clear about our needs and desires and second if we are determined enough, I am sure we will find enough time in our life to stop "juggling".
A few months back, when I was in Praha (czech republic) my city tour guide (who had previously worked as an Investment banker) told me a few lines
- Stop dreaming in your life, rather start living in your dream. - Don't "TRY" but analyse and take action

I wish you will be able to control your juggling. AMEN!!

---------
PS: I am not able to get over my juggling feelings but am definitely able to control it.

Superb observation! Great job (pun intended)

First things first....

True we are expected to grow "up", study well, choose a high-paying "job" and "settle" in our lives.

Who can dictate terms to us, even if they do how far do we actually take them...coz some are truly time-tested advises and some are simply baseless norms..that we are forced to follow.

There is no hard and fast rule as to what is "the" way to live life..something may work for one and yet may be spell a disaster to another...

No one can actually live life on a formula-based functions. It is an ever learning experience with all its "juggles", problems, highs and lows. Who can escape this vicious circle? The answer is No one..

However what we can do is control our attitude towards it... Cliched as it may sound, I personally feel that whenever I have felt things are way beyond my control, I just tell myself that whatever is happening is meant to happen coz of a pre-written text.
I can change a few things and certian things I cant.. !

So this is a wonderful thing about life, that everything is a "passing phase"... life itself included...

Enjoy the life, THANK GOD for this beautiful gift.

Life is not waiting for the storm to pass, its abt learning to dance in the rain...!!
Smile coz IT HAPPENS!!

your ever optimistic fren
Safi

PS- dont scold me for writing so much of philosophy!
